Descrição

Learn RPG development by building a simple 2D RPG in Godot! Since the early days of video games, RPGs have remained a popular choice for developers. Not only are they well-suited for telling stories, but also have a wide range of differing mechanics. As such, developers are able to tailor their RPGs to their exact specifications and abilities – making them accessible even to beginners. In this course, you’ll explore how, using Godot and GDScript, you can craft your own 2D RPG. Your RPG will feature loot, enemies, maps, interactable objects, and more – all core features that will provide you with integral skills applicable to most 2D game development projects. Regardless of the type of RPG you want to build in the future, these skills will give you the foundations necessary to expand your RPG mechanics in whichever way you see fit! This course assumes basic familiarity with Godot. You will learn how to: Animate player movement Create explorable maps with tiles Set up a player-following camera Build enemies that can attack Script interactions for chests and combat Implement health, levels, and UIs … and more!
